GT Consulting was a member, with the Triodos Bank Group and Environmental Enterprises Assistance Fund, of Stichting Triodos PV Partners, the Advisor to Solar Development Group (SDG). SDG was a multi-year effort to accelerate growth of the rural energy delivery companies using distributed PV, seeking to carry out its mission through a combination of investment and business development services (BDS). The latter support—a combination of technical assistance, softer loans, and grants—helped select developing-country companies move toward becoming appropriate targets for larger amounts of commercial investment. GT Consulting was principally involved with management of the BDS component, drawing extensively on the experiences of Soluz. SDG's investors and funders included private investors, bilateral organizations, foundations, the World Bank, and the International Finance Corporation.
